PRESTON firm Responsible Mailing Ltd has been honored for its good practice with a prestigious business award.

The company scooped the Special Award for Corporate Responsibility at the recent North West Society of Chartered Accountants annual awards ceremony.

The firm beat competition from household names including Springfields Fuels Ltd to win the award, which is presented to a firm which has “demonstrated outstanding commitment to corporate responsibility relating to responsible business practice and community involvement.”

In total at the ceremony, held at Ribby Hall Village, Wrea Green, near Preston, 12 awards were handed out to the brightest and best businesses and individuals in Lancashire business.

Dave Hindle, Director at Responsible Mailing, said: “This is a great honour for our company. We take pride in our responsible attitude which is at the heart of our business.

“To be recognised by our peers in this way is a great success and we hope this will be the first of many awards.”

Melanie Christie, acting regional director, Institute of Chartered Accountants England and Wales North West Region, said: “Every single name on the shortlist should be proud to have made it through to the final of these awards, which were the most competitive and difficult to judge in a long time.

“From entrepreneurs who run their own highly successful companies to trainee accountants, the local professional services and business sector is particularly strong at the moment, and I am delighted that the winners feature a name from so many parts of the Lancashire area.”
